25/06/2021

In response to a food shortage for freed Haliyas, C-19 Rapid Action Taskforce (C-19RAT) in association with Nepali Heritage Charity Foundation (NHCF) and Calgary Nepalese Community Association (CNCA) provided food relief materials to 51 freed Haliyas of Pipaldaali, Ward no. 1 of Budhinanda Municipality, Bajura, Sudurpashchim Province in coordination with Badimalika Media House in Bajura.

The distribution program was organized under the supervision and coordination of Deputy Mayor Shristi Regmi and Ward no. 1 Chairperson Nripa Raj Khatri. The Haliya families started facing a challenging time following the second wave of coronavirus and lockdown. The lockdown badly affected daily wage earners. 51 freed Hadiya families had faced a shortage of food after 15 days of the lockdown since they were left with no work.
