A three-day program on 'Biomedical Equipment Repair and Maintenance for Managing COVID-19' was successfully conducted at District Hospital Ramechhap on August 6 to 8, 2021.
The program was jointly organized by COVID-19 Rapid Action Taskforce (C-19 RAT), NGO Federation Ramechhap, SYS, Ramechhap Municipality, Manthali Municipality and Khandadevi Rural Municipality Ramechhap Municipality, Manthali Municipality and Khandadevi Rural Municipality among others.
C-19 RAT core member Biomedical Engineering Foundation Nepal (BEFON) technically supported the repair and maintenance of biomedical equipment.
On August 6, a total of 7 hospital equipments - oxygen concentrator (1), ECG machine (3), pulse oxymeter (2), Nibulizer (1) - were repaired.
On August 7, an orientation session on ' Capacity Strengthening of Health Officals on Repair and Use of Medical Equipments of health centers for COVID-19 Responses' was conducted for department heads of health institutions and health workers of Ramechhap Municipality, Manthali Municipality and Khandadevi Rural Municipality.
On August 8, an interaction session on the topic 'Proper use of resources and importance of regular maintenance of biomedical equipments and role of stakeholders' in the presence of CDO's of Ramechhap Municipality, Manthali Municipality and Khandadevi Rural Municipality; focal person from health care sector and local press was organized.
